BUT GOD

I was supposed to go to Houston this weekend, and on the way to the airport Friday I got into a car accident on the expressway. It was the first really bad accident I’d ever been in. My friend that was driving has two fractured ribs and a broken one, and his entire left leg is in a cast. I was so scared. But I feel SO. BLESSED. that it wasn’t worse. When an SUV merging from the left hit us, we went across the entire expressway and only hit one other car. I keep thinking what if it had hit on my side? What if it had hit my friend Gerren harder? I was feeling so guilty in the ER waiting for him to come out of surgery cause I didn’t know how bad it was and all I could think was how he could have been somewhere else but he was doing me a favor instead. I just kept crying and crying and I had to just stop and pray. I prayed for him. I prayed for my calm and comfort. I prayed for peace of mind. I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving that all I had were a few scratches, cuts, bumps and bruises. It just could have been so much worse. But God is SO GOOD. He kept me and He pulled my friend through. It wasn’t luck. It was God. And I feel so reminded that He has His hand in my life. When there is so much going on with you and everyone around you, real life issues, struggles, bills, problems, drama, messiness, you can forget just like that that life is a gift. A PRECIOUS gift and we should Thank God for it. That the good days outweigh the bad. That our blessings are greater than our struggles. Things could always be worse. My testimony is two words: BUT GOD.
